food, glorious food

I have a confession.


I LOVE food. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.






When we have guests over we cook even more than usual. To begin with we're not your typical American family who never eats dinner together and gets take out often. We almost ALWAYS all sit around the dinner table and eat a home-cooked meal. Even baked desserts are common... but when guests stay with us there's a new baked dessert every night.




These cherries soon became 



this jam, which was then used to make



these little tarts. Although they don't look the nicest due to the sugar in the jam crystallizing on the crust, they tasted DELICIOUS.

See those shrimp in the first picture? The skewers: sprigs of rosemary.


With the grilled zucchini and mushrooms and just a dash of himalayan salt



which we grated ourselves from salt rocks using a tiny grater




the meal was pretty perfect.
